Posto 5 Magazine is not a gallery; it is an architecture of inquiry. In a media landscape where imagery is often reduced to immediate consumption, we have returned to the fundamentals of photographic investigation.
This inaugural issue focuses on a rigorous, cross-sectional exploration of the Brazilian reality. The table of contents opens with a deep dive into the field: the portfolio of Flávio Sousa Cruz, who documents the artisanal production of charcoal in small communities throughout the Brazilian Northeast—a perspective that breaks away from traditional industrial portrayals. This visual narrative is in dialogue with Manuel Besse’s portfolio, titled On the Land of Nod, a photographic study exploring figures of wandering and the spaces of contemporary exile.
